Garrett Sams is a versatile wing player and rising rookie from North Florida University who will be playing his rookie season with Uni Baskets Paderborn in ProA Germany. Garrett stands at 6’7” and can play both the guard and forward position at the next level.

 

Throughout his four years at North Florida, Garrett started a total of 110 games and averaged double digits in scoring all four years. Garrett is a very good shooter, shooting 39.6% from three-point distance and 83.3% from the free throw line during his Senior year. He was also in the top 80% in spot up shooting with 1.034 points per possession (ppp) as well as top 100% on isolations at 1.421ppp. Garrett left North Florida as the third leading scorer in program history with 1,538 career points to go along with 226 assists and 548 rebounds, which are both top 10 in the program’s history. Garrett was recognized on the Atlantic Sun All-Freshman team (2017), All-Tournament team (2018, 2019), First-Team All-Conference (2020) and was also named to the NABC All-District (3) Second Team in 2020.

 

Garrett was raised alongside his two brothers Tyler and Ryan by their parents Mike and Angela Sams in Martin, Tennessee. Garrett was a four-year letter winner at Westview High School where he helped lead the Chargers to four district titles, one regional title and State Semifinals once. Garrett earned first-team All-State honors as a senior, was three time All-Region, All-Area and All-District performer.

 

While at North Florida, Garrett earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports and Fitness Administration/Management.
