Jaevin Cumberland is a rookie guard out of the University of Cincinnati. Jaevin, a playmaker and effortless scorer, helped lead the Bearcats to a three-team tie for first place in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) during his sole year at Cincinnati.

 

Jaevin was a graduate transfer student and spent his first four years at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. During his final season at Oakland in 2018-2019, Jaevin was one of the top scorers in the conference, averaging nearly 17 points per game while shooting 40.2% from three-point range and 84.8% from the free throw line. While at Oakland, Jaevin was named to the Horizon League All-Tournament Team in 2019.

 

Hailing from Wilmington, Ohio, Jaevin is the son of Shannon and Dwaine Cumberland. While at Cincinnati, he played with his cousin, Jarron Cumberland. Jaevin attended Wilmington High School and while there, he carried his team to a sectional championship appearance. He scored a career 1,846 points in high school, the most ever at Wilmington High School.

 

Jaevin earned his undergraduate degree from Oakland University in 2019 & earned his masters degree in Sports Management from the University of Cincinnati in 2020.
