Otis Livingston II is a 5’11” point guard entering his second professional season. Otis spent his rookie year playing for Horsens IC in the Denmark Basketball League (BasketLigaen).
Prior to his professional career, Otis played at George Mason University in Washington, D.C. from 2015 - 2019.
This past season, Otis was one of the top rookies and lead guards in the league, averaging 12.1 points per game to go along with 5.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds. He played and started all regular season games (21) at a clip of almost 27 minutes per game. Otis showed off his offensive playmaking ability and ability to run an offense, shooting an impressive 61.4% in the two-point range while averaging one three pointer a game and shooting 78.4% from the free throw stripe.
Otis is incredibly quick, has a tight dribble and a high basketball IQ. He can control the tempo and run an offense in the half court as well as leading in transition. Not just a great scorer, Otis rarely turns the ball over, averaging better than a 2:1 assist to turnover ratio in his rookie season. He is quick and is incredibly effective coming off of screens as the ball handler with the ability to score both in mid-range and in the paint as well as being able to use his vision and passing ability to find teammates.
Defensively, Otis uses his quickness and solid footwork to stay in front of defenders and with his great basketball sense, he is always in the right position. He has quick hands and is aggressive defensively, causing at least two turnovers per game, including 1.5 steals.
Prior to his professional career, Otis had an incredible career at George Mason and left as one of the best and most accomplished players in the history of the program. Otis started every game of his career, leaving as the schools’ leader in games started at 132. Throughout those 132 games, Otis scored 1,865 points and added 493 assists. Otis left George Mason fourth in program scoring, second in assists, third in three-point field goals made (203), fifth for free throws made (320) and seventh in field goals made (621). Further, Otis is the program’s all-time leader in career free-throw percentage and is one of four players to post 100+ assists in all four years of his career. Otis was the only player in Division I college basketball in 2018-2019 to start every game of his four-year career, and one of just eight student-athletes with 1,800+ points, 400+ assists and 350+ rebounds.
Otis was a Danish Cup finalist in his rookie season and was named Eurobasket.com All-Danish League Honorable Mention. While at George Mason, Otis was on the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team (2016), All-Atlantic 10 Second Team (2018) in addition to the NABC NCAA D1 All-District 4 2nd Team (2018).
Otis was born in October, 1996 in Linden, New Jersey to Otis and Nikki Livingston. He has four siblings: Alexandria, Hayley, Marcellus and Kiki. His father played basketball at Kansas and the University of Idaho. Otis gave testimony on the George Mason campus at “UChurch at Every Nations Campus” as well as in Linden at “Expect a Miracle Ministries.” Otis attended Linden High School and as a senior, Otis averaged 17 points per game and was recognized as the 2015 Home News Tribune Player of the Year as well as being named as First Team All-State and First Team All-Union and Second Team All-Metro. As a Junior, Otis was named Second Team All-State Second Team All-County and All-Metro Honorable Mention. Otis led Linden to a 2015 Union County Championship and 2014 State title. Off of the court, Otis was in the National Honor Society and earned New Jersey Connecticut Bridgeport Classic Scholar Athlete in 2015.
